It’s been a very busy week so i haven’t been able to do much more than skribbles, but yesterday Maike went through my blog-archive and mentioned that she thinks my posts/sketches/illustrations have become less charming through the years. Not sure if that’s true and actually totally unrelated to this character sketch. Anyways. Meet Kurt.
Last one for Tiny Roar!
Wieder für TinyRoar. Einfach so zum Spaß.
A quick entry to a contest on facebook. See TinyRoar’s facebook page to learn what it’s about.
One thing i enjoyed when i was doing the magazine-inspired illustrations a couple of weeks back was to work with texture & brushstrokes and let them stand instead of rendering everything smoothly. I revisited this aspect in this image and on purpose worked in a small resolution that forced me – with the way i set up particular brushes – to not go into too much detail (for the most part).
just a quick character doodle.
I’ve mostly been doing lineart based artwork for the past 6-7months and felt like doing something different for a bit. So i finished this painting over the weekend and started another one which maybe i’ll finish next weekend. I still feel rusty and I’m not totally happy with this one, but i’ve never been happy with anything i’ve done and Maike says it’s ok to show it 😉
5/5. the last one from my weekend experiments.
