Till Lassmann

Till ist … besonders. Er ist nicht nur ein sehr sympathischer Kerl und einer der freundlichsten Personen die ich bis heute kennen gelernt habe, er ist außerdem ein Illustrator der kein Halten, kein Zögern kennt. Wenn man ihm beim Zeichnen zuschaut wie er von Anfang an expressive Striche aufs Papier bringt, wie er Aquarellflächen anlegt obwohl das Bild nichtmal zur Hälfte erkennbar ist, wie er mit Klebeband rumspielt um Formspielereien als Ansatzpunkt zu haben, … einfach großartig.
Ich hoffe dass ich irgendwann mal genau so viel Vertrauen in mein Können haben werde wie er. Es ist einfach eine große Freude ihm beim arbeiten zuzuschauen.

Till is … special. Not just is he a very sympathetic guy and one of the nicest people i’ve ever met, he is also an illustrator who seems to be fearless of whatever. If you watch him draw, if you see his bold, expressive paintstrokes right from the start, watch him put watercolorspots into a not even half finished figure drawing, see him play around with tape to get some sort of shapeplay on the paper… it’s just marvelous. I hope to once gather as much confidence into my abilities as he has done for his. It’s a great pleasure to see his work and see him work.

Roberto Freire

Ohne Roberto würde ich heute vermutlich kein Geld mit Zeichnen verdienen. Nicht nur hat er mir als erstes vermittelt wieviel Einkommen man erreichen muss sobald man nicht mehr als Student leben möchte/kann. Wesentlich wichtiger ist, dass er mir beigebracht hat dass um wirklich gut in irgendwas zu werden, – sei es zeichnen, malen, design, irgendwas, – es vor allem Übung benötigt.
Roberto selbst ist ein verdammt guter zeichner, Karikaturist und absoluter Gutmensch!

Oh und er hat mich einmal portraitiert. Nicht unbedingt seine beste Arbeit aber das liegt eher an seinem Motiv als an ihm. Ich hab das Portrait in seine Arbeitsproben übernommen.

If it wasn’t for Roberto, i probably wouldn’t make a living from drawing. Not just did he first explain to me the numbers that i would have to achieve once i’m out of school. More importantly he taught me that if you want to be good at something, it being drawing, painting, design, whatever – it’s all just practise.
Roberto himself is a very good artist, caricaturist and absolute do-gooder.

Oh and he painted a portrait of me once. Not his best work but that’s because of the subject, not because of him. I included it in the work samples.

Simon hat mich zum Trialbike fahren gebracht, dass mein Bike seid ich in Hamburg wohne nur aufm Speicher steht dafür kann er ja nix. Abseits davon zeichnet,malt und illustriert er natürlich auch noch.

Gegenwärtig so häufig im Netz anzutreffen wie ein Dodo, war/ist Igino dennoch ein Quell der Inspiration und im Gespräch mit Ihm konnte ich sehr viel lernen.

Currently as active on the web as a dodo but Igino has been and still is a source of inspireation for me and i have learned a great deal from him in our conversations.

Holger “Hank” Kirste

Hank ist nicht nur ein Meister der klassischen Ölmalerei, er hat sich außerdem innerhalb kürzester Zeit mit digitaler Malerei vertraut gemacht und kann damit mittlerweile fast genau so gute Bilder produzieren wie mit Öl auf Leinwand.
Er ist außerdem auch großer Fan der Game of Thrones-Reihe – und das schon bevor der Hype anfing.

Hank is not just a master of traditional oilpainting, in no time he learned and mastered digital painting as well and his digital paintings nowadays are almost the quality that his traditional stuff has. He’s also a huge fan of Game of thrones – since before the hype started!

Henrik Fetz

Henrik hatte zeichnerisch wohl den größten Einfluss auf mich. Neben Roboerto verdanke ich ihm am meisten da er mir durch konkreten Rat immer wieder weiter geholfen hat und mich noch heute durch sein eigenes Schaffen antreibt.

Henrik is the artist that possibly had the most influences on me regarding my drawings. Besides Roberto i owe him the most because he has ever so often helped my with feedback and overpaints and is still one of the guys that i look up to and try to “compete” against.

Florian und ich haben jahrelang gemeinsam Storyboards entwickelt. Nebenher hat er dann noch ein paar schöne Projekte gestemmt, 2 Comicsbände, 1 Ipad-App, seinen Abschluss und was als nächstes kommt …. ich wünschte ich dürfte es verraten, es wird großartig!?

Florian and i have done many storyboards together over the last few years. Aside from that he has finished some beautiful projects, 2 comic books, 1 ipad-app, his diploma and the next big thing… i wish i could tell you, it’s going to be great!

Claus Daniel Herrmann

Daniel ist ein Illustrator mit beneidenswertem Strich – dessen professionelle Arbeiten komplett anders aussehen als seine privaten Sachen, wobei beide Seiten die hohe Qualität und der ihm eigene gestalterische, atmosphärische Ausdruck gemein ist.

I envy Daniel for his really smooth, nice flowing lineart. But his professional work rarely shows that because it’s not so much illustration work. Nonetheless his private and his professional work is high quality stuff with a one of a kind atmosphere in it.

Anne Zender

Anne hat meinen ersten Alkoholkonsum zu verantworten. Einen Jägermeister zu meinem 25. Geburtstag. Wie sich nachdem ich ihn getrunken hatte rausstellte, war es ein Missverständnis.
Ansonsten ist Anne einfach eine verdammt gute Gestalterin und sehr charmante Hochleistungs Powerbusinessfrau.
